Type of Institution: Private Comprehensive.
Degrees Available: Through the distance leaning programs at Upper Iowa University, students can complete an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with majors in: Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Emergency and Disaster Management, Health Services Administration, Human Resource Management, Human Services, Interdisciplinary Studies, Marketing, Management, Psychology, Social Science, Technology and Information Management, or Public Administration (general, or with an emphasis in Fire Science or Law Enforcement).
Forms of Credit Recognized: Upper Iowa University awards students up to 45 semester credits toward the A.A. and up to 90 semester credits toward the B.S. for the following measures of learning: transfer credit for courses completed at other accredited colleges and universities, as well as the following measurements of noncollegiate learning: formal noncollegiate course work for which credit recommendations appear in the ACE National Guide, National PONSI, and ACE Military Guides; proficiency examinations, including CLEP, DSST, and ACT/PEP, ECE, and individualized assessment of prior learning through the University's Experiential Learning Portfolio program. Credit applied varies with chosen program of study and may not duplicate prior college credit.
