Type of Institution: Public Comprehensive.
Degrees Available: The University of New Orleans offers a total of 47 undergraduate, 40 master’s, and 12 doctoral degree programs in a wide variety of subject areas. Some online classes are available (see http://registrar.uno.edu/bulletin/default.cfm).The following colleges offer degrees that may be completed or almost completed by taking evening, Saturday and sunrise (6:00 a.m.) classes: College of Education (post-baccalaureate Education and Teacher Certification programs); Department of General Studies; College of Engineering (Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering); College of Sciences (Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics); College of Liberal Arts (Urban and Public Affairs). Some online classes are available. Further information is available through the Admissions Office.
Forms of Credit Recognized: The University will consider awarding credit based on the following measurements of noncollegiate learning: Military experiences recommended for credit by ACE, noncollegiate learning recommended for credit by National PONSI and ACE CCRS, CLEP subject exams with University-approved minimum score, CEEB Advanced Placement Exams, DANTES Examination Program with approved minimum scores, Excelsior College Examinations.
Additional Information: The Metropolitan College of the University of New Orleans coordinates credit extension, distance education, noncredit continuing education, international study programs, and conferences on behalf of the University. Students interested in obtaining information about the evening, off-campus, and Saturday course offerings of Metropolitan College may request a catalog by contacting the College at (504) 280-7100.

Under "Degrees Available," the list of degree programs generally contains those  that are designed to accommodate working adults.

Under "Type of Institution," Comprehensive refers to an institution that offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
