Type of Institution: Private 4 -Year, External Degree Program.
Degrees Available: Individualized baccalaureate degrees can focus on most Liberal Arts areas, interdisciplinary Liberal Arts areas, Studio Art, Music, Theater, Human Services, Computer Science, and Business. Other programs combine Business and Liberal Arts studies; for example, Arts Management, Health Services Management, Human Services Management, and Organizational Behavior.
Forms of Credit Recognized: UWW will award credit based on the following measurements of noncollegiate learning: proficiency examinations (CLEP, ECE, ACT-PEP, DANTES); National PONSI and ACE CCRS; ACE Military Guide; and assessment of experiential learning. There is no limit on credit awarded for noncollegiate learning, and there is no limit on course credit transferred from other colleges and universities.
Additional Information: The chief characteristic of UWW is its flexibility. UWW allows students to individualize programs and select from a broad range of modes of learning, including classroom courses at Skidmore or in their own communities, on-line courses, independent study, correspondence courses, internships, and self-directed study. UWW students live all across the United States and abroad. They are only required to make three half-day visits to the Skidmore campus. UWW is a member of the Sloan Foundation Asynchronous Learning Network Consortium.

PEP = Proficiency Examination Program
SOC = Serviceperson's Opportunity College

Under "Degrees Available," the list of degree programs generally contains those  that are designed to accommodate working adults.

Under "Type of Institution," Comprehensive refers to an institution that offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
