PIERCE COUNTRY DAY CAMP

Organization Directory Page

Pierce Country Day Camp, created in 1918, is now in its third generation of operation by the Pierce family. Located in Roslyn, New York on a 27 acre site, Pierce Country Day Camp runs a diversified recreational program for children aged three through thirteen. The camp emphasizes a nurturing, non-competitive atmosphere that encourages exploration and feelings of accomplishment.

The central goal of the Pierce Country Day Camp is to provide children with the safest, happiest and healthiest summer camp “core experience” possible. The “core experience” has as its objective the positive physical, emotional and social development of all campers. Physically, the commitment is to have children leave a summer at Pierce with improved athletic skills in all areas. Emotionally, the approach is based on the principle that positive emotional growth results from a camper’s feelings of success, from feelings of accomplishment and self worth. Activities include aquatics in five pools, aerobics, music, archery, boating, arts and crafts, basketball, rollerblading clinics, soccer, dance, tennis, horseback riding, theater arts, and a new waterworld complex.
