JEWISH BIBLE ASSOCIATION

Organization Directory Page

Until 1990, the Jewish Bible Association (JBA), a registered nonprofit association (Israeli registration No. 58-019-398-5) was an integral part (Bible Unit) of the Department of Education of the Jewish Agency, a quasi-governmental body. In 1990, the JBA formed a separate nonprofit association. For a number of years, the JBA offered a college-level introductory assessment in Bible and in 1998, the JBA expanded the curriculum to include proficiency examinations in general Hebrew and Judaic studies.  The Board of the JBA consists of several retired professors, who develop the examinations and assess candidates’ proficiency in the subject areas.  The JBA website is www.jewishbible.org.
